You know those pesky nag screens when you start a newly installed application. They try to give you tips and suggestions on how you can use be more productive with a given application. Like I am dumb and I need some stupid advice from an app that thinks it knows best?!

For example, iTerm2 has one. Of course, we (people) always think we know best, but I think you all agree that’s not always (never?!) the case. It’s always good to hear from the person/company that developed the app, not to mention they’ve spent a good amount of time thinking and implementing a given feature. So don’t be a smart ass and try to take as much as free advices as you can. ;)

Well, I plan to start a “tip of the day” series, it will be the same as the one described above, but TOTALLY different! What I mean is, hopefully it will become “tip of the week”.

The idea is to start with a couple of programming tips. I am thinking the read time should be about a minute or two. Each post will consist of an insight of a concept or an idea that I though I knew and understand, but the practice proved me otherwise.

Let’s see how it goes! :)
